Pre - OELP reflection

I hope to learn about the differences between China and Singapore . it can be the study environment , their lifestyles , their traditional beliefs . I would also like to learn more about China's history simce China has a long history , it would be fun to learn more about it .

Some questions I may have :
- How is their classroom like ?
- How many people is in one classroom ?
- What are some of the superstitions ?
- Is their school rules different from Singapore's ?

I am looking forward to visiting their school . Since I am a student , it is interesting to find out how they study and how they behave during their break time . I hope that our class can be more bonded after the trip .

One Child policy poster

Exploring China's education system

1. All citizens must attend school for at least nine years, known as the nine-year compulsory education , which the government funds. It includes six years of primary school , starting at age six or seven, and three years of junior secondary education (middle school) for ages 12 to 15. China's system represented a pyramid; because of the scarcity of resources allotted to higher education, student numbers decreased sharply at the higher levels. Although there were dramatic advances in primary education after 1949, achievements in secondary and higher education were not as great.

2. We still do not know which school we are going to .

3. - Do they have any special methods to study ?
    - Do most students have private tutoring ?
    - If they have private tutoring , does it help them ?

How much is our school fees- Pin Shin

  • School fees after subsidy is usually $5.00
  • Standard miscellaneous fees is at$10.00
  • Autonomous Schools collect Autonomous School Fees, ranging from $3 to $18 per month
  • Reflection on One and Two Child Policies- Pin Shin

    3 Things I found out
-Singapore supports two child policy as Singapore lacked resources such as space and wanted to focus the resources on less people to make the quality better
-Singapore supports two child policy also because Mr Lee feared that the overgrowing population might burden the society
-Having similar situations, Singapore and China had different solutions
    2 Perceptions I gained
-Adapting other country's solution is acceptable and might help more than we think
-There are always pros and cons of rules and policies
    1 Question I have
-Are there other solutions that could have solved the problem China and Singapore face?

Why Singapore must not be complacent in her achievements-Xin Qian

"We have got to build on this culture. We can do more and we need to do more as our environmental challenges grow. For example, climate change. You will remember this year earlier in February, we had our longest dry spell ever. The reservoir water levels dropped below normal; everywhere the grass in our parks turned brown. We had lalang fires all over Singapore and even one or two forest fires in the nature reserve. Fortunately, our lives were not disrupted because we ran our desalination plants at 100 percent and we increased our NEWater output to meet our needs. First of all we had desalination plants and we had NEWater plants, and that is why we could respond. We did not have to ration water as we have planned for a margin of safety, so we endured the draught and eventually the rains came and Singapore became green again. But we cannot become complacent because climate is changing. I think we can expect more such extreme episodes, more draughts, more heavy rains at different times, and we must be able to cope with it." This was quoted from Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong. Mr Lee Hsien Loong addressed the time when we had our longest dry spell. It was an achievement to us, a country with limited water resources, and yet, due to the many solutions and preparations beforehand, we were not disrupted by the change of climate. Even though we have gotten through it, we must not be complacent as we never know what more may come our way. Obstacles while continue to rise but if we remain humble, we will steadily go through them as a nation

Reflection on One and Two Child Policies -Xin Qian

    ">3 things I found out:
    - I learnt that the reasons behind Singapore implementing the two-child policy are to create better eduction for the children, the lack of space and resources for the increasing population and to lessen the burden for families with financial problems.
    - I learnt that China had implemented similar policies due to the similar problems that were occurring in Singapore
    - I learn that Singapore had received some side effects from the policy that was implemented, like a decreasing population as many couples do not want to have kids

    2 perceptions I have gained:
    - Creating rules and policies might have unwanted side effects and consequences
    - Learning from others while applying it to our own lives in your own way can help with the situations we face

    1 question I have:
    - Is it helping with the problem by reversing the two-child policy Singapore initially had?

Why must SG not be complacent - Wan Jing

"We have a blueprint and I think we have enthusiasts. We need to work together and make sure that it translates into real outcomes. I hope you will all step forward – give us your ideas, take part in the activities, and do your bit for the environment. Especially the young people; you have got the talent, energy, drive and passion to change the world. This is your future, this is our home. No one has a bigger stake in Singapore than the young people here. So look around and ask yourself: “What can I do to make our environment better?” Imagine it, decide it, make it happen – we will partner you to do that. Together, we will make Singapore better, cleaner and greener. A home for ourselves and our children. "

    - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's Speech at Clean & Green Singapore 2015 Launch yon 8 November

I agree that we should not be complacent . Just like what Mr Lee Hsien Loong has stated , no one has a bigger stake in Singapore than us , ourselves . We can play a key role in continually improving Singapore by not be complacent and being pro-active in helping out . There is always room for improvement and we can always learn from neighbouring countries . If we do not help ourselves to improve, nobody would do so and in that case , we would fall behind . Hence , in order to improve Singapore , we must not be complacent and do our very best to improve Singapore and overtake others .

Why must SG not be complacent-Si Yan

Even though leaders of China are taking lessons from Singapore, we should not be complacent in our achievements as bilateral ties are now a two-way street, with Singapore learning as much from China as China does from Singapore.

"We cannot be complacent. We have a special and close relationship with China. We have to continue to work at it, bring it to new levels, upgrade it, recognise the new changes in Singapore and in China, and bring our bilateral cooperation to new levels.  " PRESIDENT TONY TAN KENG YAM, on Singapore's relationship with China
I agree with this point as this relationship with China is important as we learn from each other, and being complacent will not allow us to improve.

From the articles, I found out that Shanghai retained its title as the world’s busiest container port for a fifth consecutive year after widening the gap with Singapore. Shanghai, Shenzhen and other ports in China are dominating the global container-shipping market. Hence, we need to work harder to improve and not fall behind while the other countries take the lead.

Reflection on one and two child policies-Si Yan

    3 things I found out:
-China started the 2-child policy recently
-China and Singapore started the one and two child policy respectively at about the same time
-The aging population is putting stress on China

    2 perceptions you have gained:
-Reversing the policies help to improve the current situation
-There are cons to reversing the policies also

    1 question I may have:

Reflection on One and Two Child Policies - Wan Jing

    3 Things I found out :
    - Singapore started the Two-Child Policy before China started the One-Child Policy .
    - Aging population is when there are more elders than children .
    - An aging population will post stress to the future generations .

    2 Perceptions I have gained :
    - There is both pros and cons to the policies .
    - When we try out something new , there will always be an outcome that might not be in our favor .

    1 Question I may have :
    - How long would it eventually take to reverse the aging population ?

    Chingay reflection by Si Yan

I think the purpose is to celebrate Chinese New Year and also the fact that people of different races and ethnic groups can come to celebrate this special occasion. With all its voice and gaiety, would compensate for the ban on firecrackers, a customary New Year practice to drive away evil spirits.

The first chingay was just a grand show in the year of ox, depicting aspects of Chinese New Year, dragon, lion dances, martial arts and street opera. Chingay has changed and it has adopted a multicultural flavour since 1976. The organizers have succeeded in making this change happen, because this yearly street parade is now a national festival, celebrated by Chinese, Indians, Malays and Eurasians alike. The different cultural dances emphasizes on this point, showing that people from different races come together to make this a wonderful performance. The Chingay Parade would well be a treasured glimpse into the different cultures of Singapore and the world. Now, age, race and language are no barriers. Here, we celebrate together as one.

    My thoughts and feelings:

The chingay celebration performance was magnificent. The colourful floats were really nice. I'm amazed by how people from different races and ethnic groups come to together to make this a wonderful performance. I know that they have put in alot of effort in practicing and perfecting their skills and I really hope that more people would go and watch their performance on the actual day. The gymnastics was my favorite as it was really cool to see them hanging on the ropes and doing stunts in the air. Many of the volunteers who helped out in this event also played a great role in maintaining the place, and I really appreciate it. Even though it ended quite late, I was still glad that I had an enjoyable evening. However, I was sad to see that some of the students did not clean up after themselves and cleaners had to pick up the litter for them. In the future, I hope that people can remember to clean up after events.

Jing Wei's reflection on Chingay 2016

The purpose of the first Chingay was to compensate for the ban of firecrackers a customary New Year practice to drive away evil spirits.
Chingay 2016 is different, its intend is to bring all Singaporeans together and move together in building Singapore's next 50 years. There are participants from all over the world and from all races, it shows harmony. It was also colorful with festival dresses that were the culture of many, the programmed intend to bring people together as one regardless of race, religion and language.
I think the organizers of Chingay 2016 had successfully accomplished this purpose, I can tell this from people singing along with songs, and pledge to make a better Singapore in the future. The atmosphere was brought up and flows into every Singaporean's heart, warm and soft.

Chingay 2016 Reflection - Pin Shin

In my opinion, Chingay 2016 was to celebrate Chinese New Year, and also to start the next 50 years towards SG100. The show is also to showcase Singapore's unique multiracial society.
The first Chingay Parade was back in 1973, was organised by the PAP, featuring only simple performances such as lion dance, flag bearers, clowns and juggling acts. The parade then also was not located where it is today, it was a 3 kilometre road from old Victoria School to Outram Park before moving into the housing estates, then to Orchard Road in 1985.

This year's Chingay featured more foreign performing groups, together, the Singaporeans as well as the foreigners put up a fantastic Chingay 2016. Without anyone of them, it would not have been a success!  This year, we had light bulbs painted and drawn by students showing Singapore at SG100. I believe that it displayed the theme really well, and was a good way to lead the audience to think about what SG100 would be like. In my opinion, Singapore at SG100 will be a more racial harmony, more developed and more advance country than today! I think that Chingay is a good way to unit Singaporeans together, too!

In conclusion, Chingay 2016 was a successful one, marking the start of the journey towards SG100.

Chingay Parade 2016 Reflections -Xin Qian

    rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.301961); -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #fbfbfb; color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 18.200000762939453px; margin: 0.5em 0px 3px; orphans: auto; padding: 0px; text-align: left; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px;">

I think that the purpose for Chingay 2016 was to celebrate and mark the first year of Singapore's next 50 years towards SG100, therefore, explaining the theme,"Lights of Legacy, Brighter Singapore", to pledge to live by the core values of our founding fathers, and to move forward as a nation to be a brighter Singapore.

The first Chingay held in Singapore was came about when Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Prime Minister as well as Chairman of the People's Association, started the event to compensate for the ban of fire crackers in Singapore and celebrate the Chinese New Year by the noise to chase away bad spirits. However, now, it is not just about celebrating the Chinese New Year, it is also for everyone to celebrate the New Year together, and that includes all different races. Many foreign countries have also been invited yearly to participate in the Chingay Performances. In today's Chingay celebrations, regardless of race, language or religion, we come together as one and celebrate the New Year. I think this is because we live in a multi-rational country, our friends and neighbors around us are from all different races. Our country wants us to be able celebrate the festive occasion with all our friends, and not just the Chinese race in our Country.

I think the organizers have successfully shown Singapore that in the next 50 years, SG100 will show a bigger, brighter and better Singapore. The cubes that were hand-drawn by Singaporeans really play a big role in bringing out the theme. It showed us how and what Singaporeans wanted the future Singapore to look like, and that we would work hard as a nation to achieve the dreams of every Singaporean that are drawn carefully and thoughtfully on each of the light-up cubes.

Chingay 2016 Reflection - Wan Jing

I think that the purpose of Chingay 2016 was to celebrate the new year of 2016 and also to celebrate the fact that we have passed a milestone of SG50 in 2015 together as one country despite of the difference in races . In my opinion , " Lights of Legacy , Brighter Singapore " means that we should keep moving on and look foward to a better amd brighter future Singapore .

I think the first Chingay was to just celebrate each and every New Year that we experienced but I think now Chingay is to not only celebrate each and every New Year but also to celebrate the fact that we are sucessful as a country .

There are many more different segments of different people performing , such as Parkour segment , the Chinese segment , the Malay segment and etc . It shows that we are able to live togther sucessfully despite experiencing many differences .

    Happiness and Poverty -Xin Qian

I think that we are a happy country. I think that being rich doesn't necessarily mean you will be happy. I go out with my family to parks and see families getting together happily. Going to a simple park does not require money like going to USS, but it is the people who we spend the time with that matters. However, what adds on the happiness is that we can live our daily life without constantly worrying about if we have sufficient money or daily necessities to survive. We simply need to appreciate and be contented with what we have to live on happily. If someone's happiness depends on money, that is just greed. Money can't buy everything in the world, definitely not happiness.

    Happiness and Poverty -Pin Shin

In my opinion, being wealthy or not does not necessarily relate to your amount of happiness. It depends on your mindset. For example, Singapore's HPI score, which is a score that measures a country's happiness level, is only 39.8, whereas China's HPI score is 44.7! Compare to China, Singapore is not only a more developed country, but also a more wealthy country! However, I have friends who are always positive and happy. Thus I think that it is the mindset and personality that is affecting whether or not we are happy. We can be poor yet happy over small things such as being in good health, kindness of strangers... We can also be extremely rich yet puzzled by not being able to get a limited addition bag... I believe that it all depends on the mindset.

Happiness and Poverty - Wan Jing

I think being rich does not necessarily bring us happiness . I feel that when you are poor , you will see the world in a different light and definitely learn how to really cherish the things you have and not take it for granted . Money cannot buy you everything , it is limited to some things . It might make you happy if you have money but I do not think it is true happiness like money cannot buy love .

    Happiness and Poverty-Si Yan

In my opinion, being rich might not necessarily make you happy. Even with very little, we can still be contented and be thankful of what we have, and that can make us happy too. Although money can help with the purchase of necessities and others, it cannot buy everything in the world. I've been to few third world countries and one example is that, even though children in Nepal are not as rich as many others, they are still contented as they play around with whatever they have, and I think that it is more important than just being wealthy.

    RV60 Reflection-Si Yan

This year is River Valley's 60th anniversary, all of us worked hard for this celebration event. I was involved in the wushu mass display and I think that even though we were not the best, we had put in our best effort and that was the most important. During the 2 months of preparation, many people complained about the long hours of practice. However, when the big day came and we showcased our performance, we were proud as we had done it. I feel that it could have been done better as the preparation hours were quite long, and it also took up many days of our end of year holiday. Even so, this celebration has been a success, celebrating our school's achievements and our history. I'm proud that the school has come so far, and we had worked together as one, making this happen.

The extra in the ordinary- Si Yan

This picture might just show a group of students drumming on our traditional Chinese drums. However, no one would know that it is a part of a huge performance to celebrate river valley's 60th anniversary, and no one would know how much effort is put in by all the students for this event. This shows that there is a story behind every picture and we should not just assume and think that our assumption is right.

    RV60 Reflections from Jingwei

I mean, I'm only in the second year in my RV life, so I might not feel so much about RV 60.
When I look back in it in the future what would my mindset be again. I bet it would be a memory that I could cherish.
It was a total of three months of preparation, it build from nothing, to something, something that is really complex. Like those autotrophic nutrients, you build it from a simple substance, to a complex, and meaningful substance that could benefit people.
In these three months, we had sweat under the sun, staying there for hours each day. But we really bear with it. Even though there are weathers that are very bad causing the progress to slow down, we still bear with it and train by ourselves.
I was in the mass performance group, in dance society. I got to know many of my senior dancers during the time. As well, we got 60 boys from other CCAs to help us with the dance. They could be from NCC, NPCC, Basketball, or even shooting. We got to know people, got to interact and learn as well as suffer together as one. I bet it is RV spirit.
There were some murmurs about RV60 saying it in negative ways. But what I see was that the people were benefiting from it, they eventually stopped in the last one month. There were less, to none negative comments. Instead, I heard more and more encouraging words for each other.
We did learn a lot in the whole three months. Like what MRS Teo said," It is the journey, the experience we had together, the learnings we got in the three months that is important. To the final celebration of RV60."
Yes, RV60 wasn't a celebration, it was a memory for all of us, it was the relation that bound us together United as one, no matter who you are where you from.

    The Extra in the Ordinary-Jingwei

What is this photo? This would be your first thought when you start looking at it.
It looks fancy, some young people are wearing pink costume with a fan doing movements. Others are wearing blue and...Wait, are those actually tables?
Wow! Wow! The moon seems so BIG, but why is there "stains" on it? These may all be your questions for this photo.
In fact, it was a mass display held in River Valley High School to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Yes! It is even older than Singapore itself.
These students had used their November and December holidays to come back to school and rehearse on the performance. Which means while other high school students are enjoying in their  air-conditioned house playing video games or overseas traveling, or even playing with their friends. They are training very hard for it in school. But the truth is that the teachers actually also come back to help the students using their time willingly.
It was surely a hard time during the three months. But the process was memorable, an unforgettable experience to all. What is important was the learning in the three months together with their schoolmates instead of the performance itself. It was meaningful to the school, the teachers, and the students.

The Extra in the Ordinary -Pin Shin

The inserted photo is a photograph taken by the River Valley Photography Club. In the picture, the emcees of RV60 are being briefed by Ms Dawn Wong on their scripts. I choose this photo as it reminds me of the hard work and effort we emcees put in. After 3 months of preparation by not just the students, but also the teachers, the fact that we are able to present a grand performance makes me proud. The presence of Ms Wong in the photo reminds me that not just students, teachers put in a lot of work to to make sure RV60 is a success, too!

    Pin Shin's RV60 Reflection

This year, we celebrate RV60 by having a series of performance in which all students are suppose to take part. I was chosen to be the Chinese emcee for it, together with 4 other seniors and one of my classmate Xin Yi.
I am very proud to be able to take part in such an important performance, although i accidentally injured my knee and was unfortunately unable to take part in the final performance on 16th of January... I still treasure this experience. Not only did I made new friends and learned new things about emceeing, such as the qualities needed to be an emcee.
However, there are things that I believe could be done better. For example, many students think that RV60 is something that is wasting time, energy... I think before the practice of performances, teachers should let them understand how important RV60 is and why they should give their best in it.

    Wan Jing's RV60 reflection

I think it is definitely an importance to celebrate RV60 . Celebrating an anniversary means that we have reached a milestone for us to look back and thank the seniors who were able to make RV into the school it is now . I know that alot of people feel that there are too many rehearsals and everyday , we have to go back at a later time . However , practice makes perfect and there is and will always be room for improvement . When we rehearse and those who did not came regularly came for the last few rehearsals , it was very obvious that they were lagging behind and they did not know the movements . I know that alot of us were tired after school and still had to go for RV60 , but I was sure that the end product will be worth it . Instead of complaining , we should have did better to perform an even better show .

The Extra in the Ordinary - Wan Jing

This photo was taken when I was waiting for my turn to perform during RV60 . It may seem like a simple picture of the RV60 balloon , but behind the scene , I could feel the excitement and how nervous , despite countless of rehearsals ,  were the rest of us . I could feel the RV spirit when we all performed together so I felt very happy to be a part of RV60 itself .

    Xin Qian's RV60 reflections

I think it is important to celebrate RV60 in order to unite the school as one, those who have graduated and those who are currently in the school as of now. Although this is the case, many people come to practice as and when they like, thinking that RV60 is something that the school has forced us to do. Because of this, it has resulted to many inconvenience during practice due to the lack of students turning up for practice. Even on the day itself, I could still see one or two empty spots that could mess up the whole entire choreography. If the performance for RV60 was not compulsory for students, but open for volunteering, I think there would still be many students who would love to volunteer, definitely not the entire school, but I'm sure quite an amount of students would be delighted to perform. The reason for this is that even though most of the students complain during the tough and long practices(including me), a lot of us tend to enjoy ourselves, as while practicing, we are surrounded by our own family, the RVians(also including me). Especially when we learn to do a part of the choreography in sync, we feel a huge sense of accomplishment and while giving ourselves a pat on our backs, I realized that RV60 was not just to celebrate a simple birthday, it had truly united us as one like we never have before. The most unexpected CCAs like the uniform groups, clubs and societies, sports CCAs came together as one to put up a simple Wushu performance. This RV60 celebration has made me feel proud to be a RVian.

The Extra in the Ordinary: Xin Qian

This picture might be seen as a failed/blurred one to many people but to me, it is one of the pictures I feel the best about. This is actually a screenshot of a video that a parent has taken during the RV60 preview. Even in the blurry state that it is in, you can see the straight lines we split into halfway during the performance. To be able to split 200 and more students without a flaw in seconds is truly amazing to me. Being part of this item, I know how much time we took practicing on the field, under the hot sun, to be able to achieve what we did. All of us had no experience in Wushu but came together as one to practice every session. I think that a lot of people might view our performance as one of the most "imperfect" ones, but I felt that we couldn't have done better. No one knows better about how much hard work we put in more than ourselves.

    Si yan's self intro 🐳

My name is Chan Si Yan and I'm from 2D. I have a variety of hobbies ranging from sports to arts and crafts. Many people recognize me as the "whale-lover", basically because I really like whales. I would describe myself as an adventurous and active person because I love trying out new things. An example would be when my family and I went to shangrila in China, we visited a Tibetan house and we were offered their traditional butter tea. I still remembered it was brown in colour and the smell was really strong. I was hesitant but still gulped it down.

Surprisingly, it tasted quite nice and then I realised that there was no harm trying out different things, and till now, I still travel with my family at least once a year, going to places like Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia and so on. All these experiences are what makes up my personality and I'm really grateful to my parents for bringing me to these countries to experience other lifestyles.

    Pin Shin's Self intro

Hello! My name is Pin Shin, number 21 from class 2D.

Even though my English name is Pin Shin, I prefer to be called as Pin Chen. Maybe because my first language is Chinese?

I used to study in China and moved to Singapore at the age of 11. Although I have been back to China a lot, I would not mind to go one more time. China is such big country, and every district has its own culture and view. For example, in the southern parts of it, like my home town Xiamen, we have all the Min Nan (闽南) food and the architect style which is uniquely Min Nan. I found it very interesting to observe how the difference in location affects the style, taste of the food. Comparing Xiamen and Beijing, Xiamen is located very near Taiwan, thus it would have some "Taiwan taste" in the local food. For Beijing, as it is not as near the sea, so unlike Xiamen, there is not much seafood. Beijing being located near Mongolia also means that there is quite a lot of milk products, The low temperature in Beijing also means that it is not possible to have food such as ice kachang, instead, they have hot pots.

I would love to visit a different place in China, like Su Zhou! Su Zhou has been know for providing the emperor with the food they eat, so I would love to visit Su Zhou!

    Wan Jing's Self Introduction .

    Hello .
    It's me .

I am Ng Wan Jing from class 2D and my register number is 15 . I like Kpop alot , especially EXO and BTS .
I do not think I am so special and is boring like black colour cause I really like the colour black . I think the colour black can represent my soul because I can be suddenly very serious and ignore my friends when I am not thinking about anything at all . However , I like to think myself as a very amusing person to be with , although all my friends describe me as lame ( I'm sad ) .

    I think theres not alot of people in 2D that likes kpop and I am definitely saddened by that fact . );

Why am I always so sad ?

I live to eat food and not eat food to live cause food is just so amazing . ( I'm hungry . )

I feel that I definitely need to improve on my studies because there is always room for improvement for everything .

    Xin Qian's self introduction

Hello, my name is Ho Xin Qian, the register number 9 of Class 2D. I am turning 14 on the 27th of April which also makes me a Taurus. I am widely known as "turtle" in class and I am not very sure why and how that nickname came about. One of my favorite teachers is Miss Dawn Wong so I am sorry to say that I was extremely upset when I saw Mr Wong instead for my CID teacher. I'm a Korean pop fanatic, however, I enjoy listening to Chinese and English songs as well. Watching Korean dramas takes a huge part of my life and I am currently waiting for my life to transform into a roller coaster ride. (I don't think it's going to happen.) I am a supporter of the LGBT Community and a extreme supporter of Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan, otherwise known as "troyler". Thank you for reading :D

    Group blog post

The picture shows a Sudanese girl lying on the ground. Meanwhile, a vulture is eyeing her, waiting for her to die so it could feast on her. The photographer, Kevin Carter, took this photo for a photography competition. Many people criticized him for not helping the little girl and due to this, he regretted not helping the girl and committed suicide. From this exercise, I feel that people judge too quickly. I wonder if they knew that he actually had wanted to help, but was stopped at he was told that the child might have carried certain contagious diseases. If he had helped the child and gotten ill, I am sure people would then have commented that he should have known better. In my opinion, the starving child might have died sooner or later, with or without the photographer's help. However, that was not the case for Kevin Carter. He was a photographer that might have even had a bright future but thousands of people called him cruel and heartless. At that point of time, he couldn't take it any longer and his guilty conscience forced him to end his life. The child's life might be lost partly due to the photographer's fault but I wonder if the haters realize that they themselves are the cause of what happened to the Kevin Carter. We should never judge by what things seem to be. Unless we have seen the situation with our very own eyes, we shouldn't be too quick to judge.
